The Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) is globally renowned for its high-quality exams, focusing on technique, creativity, musicality and artistry.

Open to all ages and abilities, RAD exams & class awards help dancers develop technique, artistry and fitness at any stage of life.

At MAPA, we’re excited to offer RAD Ballet Examinations and Class Awards from Pre-Primary to Advanced levels. These classes are designed to help dancers build strong technical skills and gain confidence in their dance journey. Students can choose to participate in our RAD ballet classes to improve their technique and, if they wish, work toward taking their ballet exams.

To give students the best chance of success, we recommend attending two ballet classes per week for those preparing for an exam, as suggested by the RAD. This allows for consistent progress and ensures they’re getting the most out of their training.

Our regular ballet classes, which follow the RAD syllabus, are complemented by performance work for our end-of-year concert. This combination helps dancers not only enhance their technique but also develop their stage presence and performance skills, giving them the opportunity to shine both in the studio and on stage.

To ensure students get the full benefit of both technical training and performance experience, we encourage families to enrol their child in both their age group’s ballet class and their RAD level class. This approach supports a well-rounded dance education, allowing your child to thrive in every aspect of their development.
