ABOUT THE PROGRAM
“The Key” Intensive is a unique 2-week training program taught by 5 Australian and 2 International industry professionals, facilitated by renowned MAPA Australia. Week 1 of the program focuses on developing versatility, technique and style, under the direction of our highly experienced Australian teachers & choreographers. Week 2 will be administered by 2 international guests, whom will incorporate technique, grooves, choreography and performance, with each afternoon focusing solely on the rehearsal of a new work. At the conclusion of the program, dancers will have developed a concept video, choreographed by our International guests, filmed and edited by the one and only Sean Higgins aka “Shotography”
WHO CAN APPLY?
Intermediate to Advanced/Professional dancers, male and female, 16+ years, looking to advance their training, experience and knowledge in a personal yet highly challenging and rewarding program, one that will allow each attendee to grow, thrive and achieve!
HOW DO I REGISTER?
The program will accept up to 25 students and is based on an application process.
Acceptance into ‘The Key’ will involve applicants to submit a 1 – 2 minute private online video, incorporating both a short introduction explaining ‘Why you want to be a part of this program?’ followed by a solo in the style of your choice. Please no class footage or performance videos.

Selected dancers will be notified via email on Monday 9th of September, whereby a non-refundable deposit will be required.
WHEN IS THE INTENSIVE?
The MAPA Key Dance Intensive runs for 2 weeks from Mondays – Fridays at MAPA between 23rd September – 4th October 2019 | 9:00am – 3:00pm each day.
The video shoot will take place on Saturday 5th October 2019. Location and time of shoot TBC.
WHAT CLASSES & STYLES ARE COVERED?
The program is designed to provide an experience for dancers to expand their skills, gain an understanding and respect for other dance styles and be pushed out of their regular comfort zones.
A variety of classes and dance styles will be covered. It is not expected that dancers will have experience in all styles, but rather have a desire to challenge themselves and grow.

Lee moved to LA in 2006 after being cast in Monsters of Hip Hop, “The Show. This experience was a huge career boost and soon afterwards, Lee began subbing at various LA studios. When he was given a class at Debbie Reynolds Dance Studio, Lee set out to teach inspiring classes and to share his passion for dance. He has danced for stars like Ariana Grande, Selena Gomez, Usher, Queen Latifah, BoA, Carrie Underwood, and Jennifer Lopez, and the 2010-11 World tour with Jason Derulo. Lee has also worked as an assistant choreographer to Tabitha and Napoleon D’umo for So You Think You Can Dance as well as Shawnette Heard on MTV’s Top Pop Group. Other TV appearances include The Ellen Degeneres Show (with Jennifer Lopez, and Jason Derulo), Lopez Tonite and American Idol. Lee is widely regarded as a fresh energy on the dance scene.
Sienna Lyons has been dancing since the age of 3 years old. Training in Seattle, Washington in the styles of ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical/contemporary, hip hop, and jazz funk. At 18 years old, she made the life changing decision to move to LA and pursue her dream of being a dancer and choreographer in the entertainment industry. After many years of working very hard, Sienna has created a successful career as a dancer, choreographer, and teacher.
Credits include Gwen Stefani, JLo, Selena Gomez, Halsey, Nick Jonas, Pharrell, Britney Spears, Florida Georgia Line, Fifth Harmony, Demi Lavato, FloRida, Bebe Rexa, Janell Monae, JoJo, Mary-Mary, and Kidz Bop. She has worked on many award shows such as The American Music Awards, MTV Video Music Awards, The Grammys, Billboard Awards, and The BET Awards. When not working in the industry, Sienna has a strong passion for teaching students of all ages!
Her teaching journey began at 17 years old at home studio, Elizabeths Dance Dimensions in Bellevue, Washington. She began teaching in Los Angeles at Debbie Reynolds Legacy Studios and Movement Lifestyle in 2011 in the styles of jazz, hip hop, heels technique/choreography, and stretch/strength. Sienna has not only taught nationally but all over the world. Nothing makes her happier than teaching hard-working dancers and watching them grow and movers and story tellers.
Caetlyn Watson is a 25 year old choreographer/dancer from Melbourne, Australia. With her unique style in high demand, Caetlyn has taught throughout 26 countries such as Japan, Mexico, USA, Canada, Italy, Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, UK, Spain, Poland, Sweden and Israel just to name a few.
She has choreographed for the legendary Janet Jackson, worked with artists such as Kylie Minogue and Wisin, and appeared on TV shows such as Australia’s Got Talent & XFactor.
She is now focused on continuing to achieve her goals as an instructor, choreographer and performer around the world.
Robert trained at the Victorian College of the Arts. His television credits include the simon Galleher Series, The Saturday Show and Countdown with the ABC; the Don Lane Show, Hey Hey it’s Saturday and the Logies.
Robert worked at The Swageman Theatre Restaurant before moving on to theatre in such shows as Dynamite and Snacing Dynamite with David Atkins, A Chorus Line and Aida with the Victorian State Opera to name a few. After working in the corporate, commercial and fashion world for the past 20 years he has found a new passion in teaching and choreographing.
With over a decade of choreographic experience Yvette has become one of the countries most versatile creatives. Recognized for her work across multiple platforms as choreographer, creative director and creative producer her contribution to television, theatre and live touring events has lead to a large body of work.
Television include – Dancing with the stars, So You Think You Can Dance, Dance Boss, The Big Music Quiz, X Factor, Chinas Next Top Model, Chris Lilly’s J’amie Private School Girl & Jonah from Tonga, Cosentino – the Magic, Mystery and Madness, Dance Hero Japan, The ARIA Awards, The Logie Awards, So You Think You Can Dance Greece, Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards, Comedy Inc, Neighbours, Australian Idol, The Taiwanese Wiggles for the Disney Chanel, ‘The Pacific’, produced by Stephen Spielberg and Asia’s Got Talent where she was
assistant to the Squared Division.

Yvette is currently the Artistic Director for the Victorian Dance Festival and about to commence another Season at the Hayes theatre Sydney with ‘Caroline, Or Change’.
Originally from Wagga Wagga, Jarryd has forged a successful career on both stage and screen. Specialising in Latin American and Ballroom, his most recent choreography credits include; Dancing With The Stars; MTC’s Heisenberg; Immersive Cinema’s Dirty Dancing; The Unbelievables and White Night Melbourne.
Professional Credits include: “Nathan Starkey’ Baz Luhrmans Strictly Ballroom The Musical (understudy Ken Railings), Burn The Floor; The Unbelievables and Shake Rattle & Roll.
Jarryd is also a resident professional dancer on Dancing With The Stars and has been partnered with Olympia Vallance, Ricki-Lee Coulter, Jesinta Franklin and Ash Pollard.
Zoee is a choreographer and movement coach. Her work is internationally recognised throughout various music videos, independent creative projects, musicals, brand launches and charity events. She has conducted workshops throughout Europe, United Kingdom, Australia and Asia and is known for her positive, unique and energetic approach to movement. Zoee is the ‘Cultural Arts’ I mpetus Youth Awards recipient, ‘Emerging Choreographer’ Dance London finalist and received ‘Most Outstanding Choreography’ a t Melbourne’s ‘Grounded’. She is an ambassador for Ausdance Victoria, Keep Kids Safe In Dance, Co-Director of BIND Productions and is passionate about building the arts community. This unique & intriguing creative is ecstatic to be able to share her love and art with the world.

Sean is a photographer, videographer and retoucher who has a dancer’s understanding of dance. He has an acute eye for detail, and captures movement in a captivating and iconic way.
Initially specialising in Fashion Photography, Sean brings a wealth of media knowledge to his work portfolio.
He has been published in Dance Australia Magazine, The Fashion Journal, Fashion Trend Magazine, OhLaLa Magazine (France), Kismet Magazine (UK) and Runway Magazine (USA) and utilises a fashion aesthetic when shooting dance, capturing movement in an iconic and captivating way.
Sean has had much of his work go viral, his images repeatedly reposted and shared. He maintains a current, innovative presence on social media platforms and is constantly evolving and thinking outside the box. Sean has a reliably fast turnaround and a very easy going and professional work ethic.
